The Mind Player Story

how it all happened (Summary):

Subconscious Reprogramming via the Mind Players

Note:  The "Mind" has a vast landscape; it encompasses much more than just the "brain".  As will be explained in more detail in the 1 January 2020 update at the end of this section, many researchers sense that the heart is a large factor within the Mind's landscape.

What is the Superconscious Field?

The Superconscious field is a totally mysterious non-local super computer/data base – all that exists – (with right-brain interconnectivity) which, in turn, is interconnected with one’s local Mind field (left-brain, heart, etc.).  Perceived geniuses have stated that, while very focused and with a specific purpose, information has flowed to them from the Superconscious Field – or "River" in the case of Philip Glass (now blocked unfortunately: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x__legLn4q8); he asks "Where does music come from?" at the twenty minute and 50 seconds point – causing them to take no claim for what they created.  Alternative interview (second to last comment made by Glass: https://www.npr.org/transcripts/401246742.  Musical notes that created an entire symphony seemed to just come out of thin air; words that flowed like water quickly turned into an entire book.  There have been some reports of a young untrained individual performing surgery via a connection with the Superconscious Field.  It has been claimed that access to the Superconscious Field can be found by either having an intense focus or by simply allowing your mind to completely relax into nothingness - as in a form of meditation.  One can only wonder how this experience can be tremendously amplified by having all of one's Mind Players jointly connected with the Superconscious Field simultaneously.

What is Subconscious Reprogramming?

The right hemisphere of the brain may be responsible for 95% of our actions/functions (both internal and external).  This makes most  of what we are automatic.  A part of the right-hemisphere  of the brain, commonly referred to as "the subconscious mind" is made up of "read-only" programs that have been created over each of our lifetimes.  Since these are mostly created and reinforced with repetitive experiences, they can be "reprogrammed" with repetitive experiences – initiated by the "conscious mind" (left hemisphere of the brain).

What are the Mind Players?

The Mind Player concept is a refined process that condenses, and expands upon, a number of popular disciplines in order to efficiently engage in subconscious reprogramming.   You can now enjoy the easy application of a very complex process where all the study has already been done by someone else.

The Mind Player concept is the result of an in-depth study of an array of cutting edge knowledge.  The works of René Descartes, Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Rupert Sheldrake, Bruce Lipton, Louise Hay, Gregg Braden, as well as Australian Original Peoples' Dreamtime have been used to fast track the "Enneagram" and "Voice Dialog" systems into the realm of 21st Century Quantum Theory.

The Mind Player Player concept is compatible with all disciplines.  It actually makes whatever you’ve been doing more complete.  And once you’re acquainted with your Mind Players and their influence, you will quickly see how you can permeate through your entire being as you’ve never been able to do before.

The use of the term "Mind Players" does not suggest real people running around in one’s mind.  Putting a sort of three dimensional slant on inter-related unexplainable fields within the mind, that could possibly be thought of as invisible or out of reach, makes them more friendly and accessible.  For many it will be the first time to experience "feelings" in a very real way, associated with a specific Mind Player, and not in a generic or universal way.  The Original Peoples may refer to this as an awareness of one’s totems that enables one to engage with the universal dance of life.  [Note: These are not "audible" voices that I hear; they are what I would more accurately call "thought communications".]  (See More on 'Fields')

Someone compared the Mind Player concept to the popular 1997 movie "The Game", starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn.  Once the initial analysis is completed, you get to establish the "Rules of the Game" – not someone else as was the case in the movie; and then play it.  The Game is the rest of your life.

Discovering

Your Mind Players

... and how your Spirit Being interacts with your mind
Subconscious reprogramming
... a key to greater awareness

By Ricardo Johansson

Byron Bay, known for healing and spiritual awakenings for thousands of years, is where it all started for me.   One of the first discoveries of my Observer was that a Tarot reader is actually taking a client out of a trance in which he or she already dwells.1

This was the magic moment for me.  Many of my players were educated in politics and the psychology of politics.  Hence, the reality of an existing subliminal trance hit home in a powerful way.  I know this will have absolutely no affect on the masses.  But I’d love nothing more than to help those relatively few and unique spiritual seekers to totally break free of the trance and reach their highest level of awareness and potential.

My Observer, Problem-solver, Helper, Creator, Devil’s Advocate, Adventurer and Achiever then focused on how to escape the trance itself.  I was researching the writings of people like Rachel Pollack's "Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom" – a book of Tarot, Rupert Sheldrake's "Science Delusion" and Bruce Lipton's "Biology of Belief".  I was also starting to discern the significance of understanding that we are all Spirit Beings having a human experience, and there is a lot more to the spirit sphere than many of us have previously perceived.  Life itself is controlled by the external environment or perceptions of same.  Bruce Lipton gives examples of identical stem cells producing different elements like muscle, bone, and fat, etc. – according only to the environment in which they are held.  This means that the messages or directives relating to cell performance are not coming from the nucleus of the cell. Previously this was considered to be the autonomous "brain" of the cell;  they are coming from outside the cell. Concerning how the Spirit Being interacts with the human body, Lipton gives the analogy of a technician in NASA directing a rover on Mars.  In turn, the rover perceives the environment and sends messages back to the technician.  Our Spirit Beings directing our bodies from a distance is a much different perception from the encumbered human having a spiritual experience via various religious affiliations.  Note: The thoughts concerning potential relationships between Spirit Being and Mind Players have expanded (maybe the Spirit Being is Pure Awareness – only observing, and only along for the ride).  See 1 January 2021 Update.

After a couple years experience with the Mind Players I've sensed that psychedelic drugs such as LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) or DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) seem to have given people "glimpses" of the communication channels between the spirit world and the physical world.  Although I've found this interesting and supportive of the Spirit Being/vessel relationship, I believe that, for me, it's more important to focus on how I can better experience this miracle we call life by better managing my vessel.   Immersing myself into a psychedelic world "just for the experience" does not interest me.  But having made this observation, I've come across a nautical analogy that I enjoy using for the Mind Players.  The Spirit Being is given a vessel that has a full compliment of crew members – or Mind Players.  The Most Influential Mind Player, just as a captain of a ship, does not have "control" of the Mind Players or crew; however, he/she does have the responsibility to manage them efficiently.  For my Peacemaker, as a captain, He realises that although he is a Mind Player who can exert a lot of influence, he has to keep an eye on the overall operation of the ship and it's course.

As time passed it became obvious that I was not heading towards becoming a Tarot reader - but I was totally open to start experiencing anything else of extraordinariness.

By July 2013 I was able to see a very significant evolution in the "understanding of the mind" - from René Descartes to Sigmund Freud, then to Carl Jung, and then to people like Sheldrake and Lipton.  It became clear to me through my Problem-solver that a fully functional mind is needed to better understand, and navigate through, this mystery we call life.  And a mind is much more than a physical brain – much like a magnetic field is much more than just the magnet.  And then you can get into fields within larger fields, etc.  Traditional science still tries to explain everything about the mind in mechanical terms within "confined space" – like a brain within the skull; one part is physically connected to the other, etc.  However, when you open the door to quantum theory, things change drastically.

My use of the term “Mind Players” does not suggest real people running around in one’s mind.  Putting a sort of three dimensional slant on inter-related unexplainable fields within the mind, that could possibly be thought of as invisible or out of reach, makes them more friendly and accessible.  Although mechanical thinkers may challenge this concept, I say: “If it all works, who cares?”

There is communication between the separate fields within the mind – as well as fields beyond. Simply identifying them as “Mind Players” helps us to discover them, know them and properly direct them – at least preemptively or as a debriefing.

Studies in America revealed that 65% of children, up to the age of seven, have experiences with what corporate university-trained psychologists call "imaginary friends".2  I strongly sense that we’re all born with the natural ability of proper mind function – even though we’re not knowledgeably aware of what it is, how it works, and what to call it; but society has a way of weaning most of us away from it by the age of seven.

May it just be a coincidence that a seven-year-old child has already received two to three years of indoctrination in corporate government-controlled schools?  I don’t think it’s a coincidence.  There is much written about the "schooling" process, but my Devil’s Advocate, Helper and Problem Solver think it is fairly efficiently explained in an article entitled “Why Johnny Can’t Think - The Politics of Bad Schooling”.3

The proper management of these players can help us access the unconscious and spiritual elements of the mind or the fields.  Each player has a connection with certain "read only" programs in the subconscious mind.  These programs are the result of many years worth of downloaded data from our environment.  Hence, the unconscious or subconscious element of our mind may account for 95% of our actions – making much of our activity "automatic".   Therefore, the "trance" could actually be the result of both internal and external influence.

Speaking of the “trance”, my Observer sought out more information about Bruce Lipton's stem cell research.  My Problem solver sensed that there was more to the story, and that the “trance” may even exist at the cellular level in the petri dish.

Dr. Tim Schroeder was studying effects of cytokines on stem cells.

Sharing his results, Dr Schroeder said: ”This proves unambiguously that HPC lineage choices can be steered by external environmental factors such as in this case by cytokines. The hematopoietic progenitor cells are 'instructed' by cytokines."

He added: ”These findings confirm that signaling pathways that are activated by cytokine receptors influence the lineage choices of the cells,” Dr Schroeder said.

Use of the words "can", “instructed”, and ”influence” in the above quotes demonstrate that it’s likely that stem cells still have a mind of their own – their nucleus – that may or may not accept this instruction or influence.  This external influence may very well be part of the “trance” that, like people, most are conditioned to automatically be controlled by this external influence.  However, it does appear that, just like people, that influence can be overruled: hence, it may be possible, even at the cellular level, to escape the trance.

This is where each of us, through the direction of our Spirit Being, can take proper charge of our fully autonomous realm and escape the trance.  This involves the purposeful and fully conscious reprogramming of our subconscious mind.  This reprogramming, followed up with a good dose of positive thinking, is the basis for opening the horizon to a much more rewarding life.  This is a neutral process - there is neither an intention of having any good nor bad effect on the rest of our species – or any subdivision of same.  This is a present we give to ourselves only.

I call the place, upon which all of this takes place, the "Super-conscious stage".  I started to gradually identify my own players one by one. It took months rather than days, and I haven’t necessarily named them all yet.  As it turns out, it’s a good thing that three of my dominant players are my "Problem-solver/Negotiator", "Helper" and "Observer". Those who know me understand that there is a Joker in there somewhere, but I try my best to make him subservient.  Some people may debate whether or not the Joker is a separate player or a tool of another player, but that’s up to each individual to decide.  The ‘stage’ is where I now go, besides learned authors and other close colleagues, to better understand what is unfolding before me.  When these principles are understood, it becomes obvious that we are all having these conversations in the mind, but we are not fully conscious of the process - or the identity of the various players.  And most of us are certainly not in full control of them.

When I commenced a session at that point in my journey – still seeking an answer to a specific question or a simple exploration – I was able to help someone identify his or her players.  I was also able to assist in stimulating a conversation in the mind between someone’s unique players – still using the Tarot cards or other medium of choice as stimuli when needed.  Also, at that time, I was keenly aware of the need for a technique that could enable someone to easily identify his or her players.

This process not only allows one to become more aware of, and familiar with, themselves; but it also opens up entirely new approaches to completely open and honest communication with others – including group interactions.  Having sufficiently orchestrated all one’s Mind Players greatly complements and expands the potential of any other discipline.

Then I was introduced to what is known as Enneagrams.   A quick scan equipped me with a very elementary understanding of Enneagrams, but I sensed that it would be good to learn more so that I could be certain of the similarities and/or differences between Enneagrams and the "Mind-Player"
concept.  I then opened my stage of the Super-conscious to a course of self study by ordering and reading the four main Enneagram books.4

In the meantime my Observer witnessed a couple other very interesting events.

One of Australia’s foremost celebrities, Barry Humphries, once made a statement concerning one of his many famous characters, Dame Edna. He reportedly said:

“...the characters inside him are people who allow him to siphon off aggression and discuss topics he would otherwise be loath to discuss in his own persona.  Still, that’s a far cry from asserting, as his biographer John Lahr does, that he and his characters are one and the same.” 5

Then there was Tony Robbins’ interview with Rechaud Bell.6  Bell was 32 years old and had a quite disabling speech impediment (stuttering) since he was two years old.  In about seven minutes Tony had completely eliminated the stuttering problem.

My Observer noticed that although Tony did not use the term "players", he had actually exercised the "mind-player" concept I’ve been discussing above.   Within that very short period of time Tony was able to connect the speech impediment with a specific event in the past – when Bell was two years old.  The "stutterer" was actually a "player" behind whom Bell was hiding: a safe place).  Tony basically ordered the stutterer to cease and desist, and then Tony called out the "warrior" – yet another player.  As a matter of fact, Tony assisted in the transition of power from the stutterer to the warrior.  The warrior took over and the stuttered has never emerged again since that time.  Tony then had Bell speak live on stage to an audience of about 5000 people during one of his seminars.  He was awesome.  At this time, however, I sense that Rechaud could have gone much deeper and identified many more of his players.  This would have allowed him to further develop an understanding, and a better working arrangement, of his entire being.  It was also interesting to my Observer that a third party could direct another’s mind players, and the process is teachable to the subject him or her self – for complete self-management.

As I awaited delivery of the Enneagram books my Problem-solver became more convinced, through various real experiences, that we each can either allow our subconscious data bases to control our lives on automatic, or our Spirit Being via our fully conscious mind and/or reprogrammed subconscious data bases.  These players are not static, either individually or collectively, and we have the power to manage them and change them – with one or more being dominant.  And through my own encounters my Observer has found that these players have the ability to act independently of me, and each other, or form alliances with each other.  And, especially in a relationship or political sense, the dominant mind player is able to transfer authority over to an outside third party or another authority – either permanently or temporarily.  It’s also fairly easy to see the actual reprogramming of the subconscious data bases concerning the example of Dame Edna and Rechaud Bell.  The previously recorded subconscious data bases that restricted certain behaviors of certain players were replaced by a purposefully reprogrammed data base by Barrie Humphries; and Tony Robbins assisted Rechaud Bell in reprogramming subconscious data bases that were originally created to protect a two-year-old innocent child.

Post Enneagram study evaluation:

Throughout my studies I was constantly aware of two things: the need for an easy method of finding one’s players, and the need to honor and respect each separate player.

My Observer found the Enneagram process incredibly interesting.  One of the first things I noticed was the frequent mention of the ‘trance’ which possesses most people throughout their lives.

However the Enneagram is a bit complex and contradicting, as many friends continued to remind me, as they encouraged me to develop something simple.  For example, on one hand it attempts to place each individual into a box: one personality type – at least calling it a "Basic Type".  On the other hand, it says that an individual can have elements of ALL personality types - especially the Type 9.  I sense that the largest benefit of the Enneagram system is that it, without question, identifies nine of the Mind Players that are common to all of us, and helps determine each one’s current level of influence.  Finding ‘unique’ Mind Players is a matter of self discovery.

A prominent Sydney-based Enneagram web site makes an honest admission (paraphrased): Even people with significant Enneagram experience actually mistype themselves and others quite frequently with lingering uncertainty - which can last many years.7  I, personally, sense that this difficulty may be the result of trying to apply extremely complex and mechanical methods in an attempt to "perfectly codify a personality type".  This is where I might suggest that an individual simply identify, honor and respect his or her fully autonomous players, and just allow them to be themselves - with proper direction of course.

One of the first extraordinary things that happened to me during my Enneagram studies was being very consciously aware that my players were offended that the books were referring to them as only "behaviors" - rather than real autonomous players.  However, my Observer became quite entertained at the significant number of times a somewhat subliminal comment was made which would actually validate the "Mind Player" concept being presented here – like "have a good talk with yourself".

None-the-less, I was committed to delve into the Enneagram process with an open mind - instructing all players to show up on stage and to put their most healthy behavior forward.

The questionnaires that caught my Observer’s attention are called "The Riso-Hudson TAS: Type Attitude Sorters".  I answered the TAS questions designed for each of the nine types.  Even though I constantly had to remind myself to keep an open mind, I must admit that there were players on the stage who were a bit skeptical of these questionnaires.  I think this skepticism was fueled, at least in part, by the fact that the questionnaires were not true to the individual type (player).  They mixed types with other types or players and included some feelings that are not types at all.  That is why I decided to let a month go by and answer the questionnaires again - to see if my scores were the same.  To both my amazement and pleasure, I scored more or less the same each time.  New questions specific to individual Mind Players now exist.

One of the most remarkable results was that a number of the players that I had previously identified in my mind were also listed in the Enneagram personality type list (or could possibly be massaged into one of them): six out of the nine].

And what may be the most remarkable revelation was from Helen Palmer who "was there" at the beginning and was a first-hand eyewitness [see footnote 4].  In her introduction she revealed that the Enneagram was considered to be so powerful by the Catholic Church that it was taught to priests and nuns in an "underground" sort of way - completely out of the common parishioners’ sight and knowledge.

Following my Enneagram studies, and after I completed my own Mind Player chart, I had a faint recollection of being introduced to the Enneagram process many years ago.  I asked my Helper and Observer to find and retrieve such an experience if, in fact, it did actually happen.

It didn’t take long before I was reliving an experience I had a few years after I had been discharged from the Navy in about 1975.  I was in San Diego California and thinking about what I was going to do with the rest of my life.  Someone suggested that I contact the Veteran’s Administration and ask them if they could help me find a new vocation.

I intuitively sensed that I was getting very close to finding that "experience".  And there it was: I clearly remembered that when I attended the scheduled appointment with the Veteran’s Administration, I was seated in a room and given a fairly lengthy questionnaire to fill out.

After a little more research, I concluded that it most likely would have been the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator questionnaire: MBTI.  As the MBTI has been around for quite a few years, I was able to read many articles written by people who have evaluated it.  Like the Enneagram system, it too was strongly based upon Carl Jung’s work.

I found that, in many tests, people who had repeated the process only several weeks later had completely different results.  Therefore, it has been a strong confirmation for me that any system that tries to "compartmentalize" someone’s "Type" or "Personality", as though it will never change, cannot be compared with the Mind Player concept that simply helps people identify their Mind Players and then just let them be themselves – with all of their individual feelings and emotions recognized and honored. This included  their unencumbered connection with, and opportunity to experience, evolution and change.

Last, but not least, I discovered what is called "Voice Dialog" - created by Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone in the early 1970’s.  They spoke of the ‘many selves’ that make up each of us.  I thought it was fascinating that it was developed around the same time as the Enneagram process, and these two processes were most likely not aware of each other at the beginning.

Conclusion

After weeks of mentally processing all the above, and more, I decided to conduct a random experiment.   With a focus on simplicity I incorporated the ‘Mind Player’ concept as part of my normal communication with others.  I purposely put myself into situations where I was engaging people in conversation with whom I have never met.

The results were awe-inspiring.  I found that there was no need for explanation - really.  The seamless introduction of the "Mind Player" concept into normal conversation appeared to automatically dovetail into the minds of those with whom I was speaking.   They quite comfortably, and very consciously, started talking about their players – although I’m sure that they have a ways to go with discovering and naming them all.

I can’t think of anything more appropriate at this time than to present you with a very down-to-earth example of the interaction between the Mind Players and the reprogramming of the subconscious.  This example reflects a conversation I recently had with a Mind Player enthusiast.    While discussing with her the habitual activities of some of her Mind Players, an opportunity for some subconscious reprogramming presented itself.

First, I’ll list the ten common Mind Players that she has – as well as all of us:

Reformer/Perfectionist

Devil’s Advocate/Questioner
Helper

Enthusiast/Adventurer

Achiever/Performer/Motivator

Challenger/Asserter/Boss/Leader

Individualist/Romantic

Peacemaker

Investigator/Observer

Judge

We were specifically referring to her Perfectionist and Achiever at the time.  Her most prominent Mind Player, by far, is the Perfectionist.  She was conveying to me the tremendous frustration of those two Mind Players over their inability to ever get things done – at least in the short term.  Everything just seemed to be consumed within a whirl wind.  One can only imagine the high levels of stress and feelings of failure that haunted this woman for many years.  It was like she was simply going from one project to another – she was focused, but with a very short attention span.  She was not able to commit to any one project long enough to complete it – at least in the short term.  Her leaping from one to the other seemed to be an attempt to stay one step ahead of a potential judgement of some kind.  She seemed to be escaping the potential of being judged on any level of completion – let alone a final judgement of a final completion. God forbid!

At one point she said that she felt that she had to implement some strict discipline in order to make any progress.  I asked her why she used the word ‘strict’ in front of the word "discipline".  She was initially caught off guard, but this was an indication that it was an automatic transmission directly from her subconscious programming.  When she had an opportunity to confront this automatic transmission within her fully conscious mind, she was able to see and understand the source of the programming.  She was educated in a private Catholic school that was governed by some very strict nuns.  The nuns enforced "discipline" in such a way that was very painful to her and other students – potentially in both a physical and mental sense.

After I assured her that discipline can be quite a positive and helpful tool, and actually a requirement in real achievement, she was able to recognize a profound reality.  She was, after many years, still controlled by a set of subconscious programs that are no longer needed.  The school and the nuns are long gone, and she now has the opportunity to reprogram her subconscious mind to look at discipline in a positive light.

For the first time in many years, she is able to think of words like "organize" and "schedule" without immediately being overwhelmed with stress and anxiety.  She can now use the word "discipline" without preceding it with the word "strict".  Her Perfectionist and Achiever, as well as several other associated Mind Players, are now able to consider initiating "to-do lists" and prioritizing them with a very positive outlook – and without any frustration at all.

Since her most prominent Mind Player is the Perfectionist, she, along with all of her other Mind Players, does have some work to do concerning the cautioning of the Perfectionist on the consequences of over obsessing.

Of course, on the stage of the Super-conscious, its one’s Spirit Being who should be calling the shots and giving final approvals.  After all, this particular human body is provided for the purpose of that Spirit Being’s Earthly experience.

In summary, the "Mind Player" concept is the simple use of the same astronomical and potent power that’s visible in Enneagram as well as the brilliant insights of Rupert Sheldrake, Bruce Lipton and other forward thinkers.   I don’t believe that personality types (behaviors) are ‘stand alone’ phenomena – or are somehow sourceless.  The "personality type", or "behavior", of the individual is looked upon as the overall result of the combined influences put forward by all of the fully autonomous players – real sources.  In a way, I feel like an artist who's used various already-existing disciplines like different colours and used them to paint a new picture on a canvas.

Lastly, my Observer became euphoric when he came across one of IBM’s predictions for the next five years.  They have a multi-colored, multi directional Enneagram-like chart on the internet that represents how their computers will determine everyones’ personality type "in 200 tweets or less – or 2 - 3 thousand words in emails, etc.".  This, of course, is to more precisely manipulate one’s purchasing behaviors.  If IBM, and other corporations, know our personality type or our Players, wouldn’t we like to know for ourselves?  Search IBM, Innovation, predictions, five years; or click the following link:
